Shantipurna Non-Violent Silk Scarves

This silk scarf is made out of 100% non-violent silk from Assam. Absolutely no harm has been inflicted on the many silk worms involved in order to produce it. This makes it both ethical to produce, buy, wear, and to enjoy. 

Shantipurna means peaceful in Assamese. 

Silk is an ideal natural fiber as it is cooling in summer and warming in winter. Each scarf is entirely hand-spun and hand-made by a female artisan and her family in Assam, using traditional techniques of her area. This makes its texture similar to that of linen (and completely unique!) as the weave incorporates imperfections and is natural looking.

Prakriti (natural) is made from undyed silk, and the gradations seen in the scarf reflect the natural colors of the silk, making each one unique.

Luha (iron) is a shade of charcoal and is naturally dyed with iron.
