Orb Clock BK - Cast Brass | Lemnos

Inspired by antique brass navigational instruments used by early explorers of the sea and the stars, the stately Orb Clock is a modern heirloom. Thin engravings on the clock face form a dial on the colored surface, exposing the golden brass below. 

Made with a traditional brass casting technique originating in Takaoka, Japan - 'Nuka yaki shudo-shoku' -  the Orb Clock is made by craftsmen over the space of 1-2 weeks, undergoing specialized coloration and polishing to achieve the unique texture and finish. This black satin finish with a speckled pattern is achieved via a thermal and chemical treatment. 

The rich texture of the clock face is intended to stand up to walls that have a strong material quality, such as exposed concrete or brick.
